Country Sky Watching

Living way out from cities and towns without the blaring "security lights" gives me the advantage of really seeing the night sky.  Turns out that this week is a combination of 2 meteor showers.  Wirtanen and Geminid.  For those who aren't super brushed up on the night time sky and locating constellations, try this night time map to help you, December Evening Sky Map.

Enjoy the show!

  1. We have a good view of the sky here but for some reason the meteors arent coming by lol.
I used to sit for hours waiting for them to shoot across the sky but now I just see a few and go inside.Maybe when we get home it'll be better. It's really dark on our property with no lights at night. With all the chores you got going for next year it sounds like you need a sawmill girl!

  2. . I really enjoy watching the natural shows like this. It always amazes people from town how light it can be here in the moon light with no town light shadowing

  4. The street light on my corner just ruins watching the skies, even for stars. I miss darkness.
