Stupidity at its Finest

I know it's not surprising that a member of our federal government would do or say something stupid but this man, Tom Vilsack, is a complete moron. Who is Tom Vilsack you ask? Well, Tom is the secretary of Agriculture for the good ole' US of A. That's right, Tom Vilsack is working hard to strengthen the American agricultural economy, to revitalize rural communities, to protect and conserve our natural resources, and to provide a safe, sufficient and nutritious food supply for the American people. Because USDA's work affects every American everyday, we are proud to be the 'Every Way, Every Day' USDA. That's right, he's the jackass in charge of the USDA.

Mr. Vilsack is on video saying that the federal food stamp program is an economic stimulus. Tom says "Well, obviously, it's putting people to work. Which is why we're going to have some interesting things in the course of the forum this morning. Later this morning, we're going have a press conference with Secretary Mavis and Secretary Chu to announce something that's never happened in this country -- something that we think is exciting in terms of job growth. I should point out, when you talk about the SNAP program or the food stamp program, you have to recognize that it's also an economic stimulus. Every dollar of SNAP benefits generates $1.84 in the economy in terms of economic activity. If people are able to buy a little more in the grocery store, someone has to stock it, package it, shelve it, process it, ship it. All of those are jobs. It's the most direct stimulus you can get in the economy during these tough times."

Okay Tom, whatever you've been smoking, you need to quit it, RIGHT NOW. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so completely idiotic. As a matter of fact, I think you need to be punished for your stupidity. How about you spend 1 month working for minimum wage either stocking those grocery shelves or working in the factory that produces those grocery store products. Also, you should immediately return your government paycheck because you are entirely too stupid to deserve it.

Welcome to the new world folks, this is how our politicians view the rest of America. Don't worry tho, there's going to be plenty of minimum wage jobs available that the government is going to create for each and every one of us so we can all sign up for food stamps in our poverty and further stimulate our economy with them!

  2. I just wrote a comment and then realized it was almost as long as your post, so I deleted it. In short my hubby works as a depart. manager at Wal-Mart and they are running off a skeleton crew, have been ever since this mess started. They can not hire because sales #'s are so low. Some people get on food stamps because it is either they default on bills or go hungry, and if that is the case they sure as heck don't have the extra money to boost the economy like he says is happening.Even though we have them(soon to fix that) we still buy as cheap as possible and that still isn't enough. Stores aren't hiring, they are pushing staff to cover multiple spots,it's bad. And this is everywhere. 1 in 7 or 46 million are now on food stamps, can anyone even fathom the millions or billions going to this each month? Hey I was going to ask, how much corn should I try to grow next year for a decent amount of cornemal for a small family? Is a half a pound in seeds good or do I need more?(Ithink this is a little shorter in length lol)

  3. Hey Coley! I enjoyed the reply/comment and I feel that same frustration as you do. The 'elite" don't care one bit about what us peons struggling from day to day go thru. On the corn, I planted around 500 stalks(I figure it was) it wasn't a whole bunch, probably around 2 good handfuls of seed. I only got around 1/3 of it after the goats got on it and I still harvested a 3 gallon bucket of kernels (no cobs). Ground up I figure it is going to make 10 batches of cornbread. Not a whole bunch but better than nothing. it started out as 7 rows, 50' long to begin with, which would have made a decent amount.

  6. I am so with you about Vilsack-o-crap! He's also the one babbling on about how GMO's are the only way to feed the future.. that..( no pressure now farmers) current tilled lands need to double their harvest (but he's pushing only corn and soy primarily... and also soon-to-be GMO wheat.)

It takes about 20 years roughly for what chemicals are sprayed to eventually leech into the underground water system. Since 2008 the USDA no longer tracks the millions of pounds of chemicals dumped on agriculture lands (herbicides, fungicides, pesticides). What Vilsack-o-crap essentially is encouraging.. promoting is screw the future water supply. We already see it showing up in water now. Back in the 90's less than 15% total acreage was GMO.. the last few years.. we are well over 90% into 95%+.

Spending at the grocery.. not really going to cut it. You can't however, use SNAP at local family (produce/farm) stands.. although a few .. very very few.. city farmer's markets can accept them.

As well.. I think you can use them to buy seeds & plants.

The grocery store supports big Ag.. big Ag as well are happily enjoying subsidized crops. Family farms need the help.

Although.. CA also bought a bridge from China. I don't think any have a shred of common sense left.. yet they have the ability to write the checks.

  7. I don't call it the Federal Gooberment for nothing. 90% of the food for those shelves is not even produced in the USA, so sure it's an economic stimulus for say Mexico or China or any of the number of OTHER countries that the US gives tax breaks to import from.
