I been Robbed

Seriously. Today, somehow, my entire goat herd has been stolen, including Lucky goat. Sometime between 5pm and 7pm. Nobody here heard a sound, we were around the farm all day, front door was open, dog laying on the porch and all the goats are missing. No where to be found. The goats were laying on the burn pile at 5pm when the boys lit it on fire and when we went out to milk the cow and feed, the goats were gone. Not one single time in the 2 years I have had these goats have they ever been more than 150 yards from the barn. Lucky has never been not on the porch come dusk. Tonight, the barn lot is quiet and empty. 9 goats, all gone.

  1. OMG! I am so sorry. I know that's not going to help get your goats back, but I am speechless. That is just wrong, who in the hell steals somebody's goats.
    ((((MM))))

  2. Noooo! That is horrible. Who on earth would steal all your goats? Could they just be off on an adventure? Is this happening to others where you live? Arrrgh...so sorry.

  3. I hope they find their way home. I've just heard of cows, bees, and now goats disappearing in the last few weeks. Too many folks out of work. I wish you the best. dennis

  4. How in the hell was someone able to wrangle all 9 goats, load them on a truck and make off with them? They don't come when called like dogs do, right? And they just wander free, so this person walked all over your farm and leashed them one by one? That is outrageous! I would call the police, they may not actively go look for them but you never know who knows what and who will get a guilty concience.
I'm sure praying that there is some explination for this that you are just not seeing right now. I really don't want to believe that the world is coming to this.

  5. 500 goats would follow a bucket full of grain. They are very gentle and easy to get to follow you - and right into a trailer. Maybe something exploded in the burn pile and scared them off somewhere. I sure hope you find them close to home. Can't wait to hear from you today.

  6. They're gone. The sheriffs office will put out a notice for all the local auction houses. The goats were baited with feed out the side gate. I know this because my old roping horse was out there too. Good thing horses arent worth anything or I'd probably be missing a roping horse too. I'm done, this is the final straw. Stealing my Lucky goat from me is more than I can take.

  9. That's heartbreaking. I hope Lucky and the rest of the goats are found and returned and the a-holes that stole them are ... punished.

  10. I was thinking about local auctions also. Here in Texas goats are selling for a good price. We have a small herd of goats (about 25 nannies/babies). I would be heart broken! Nothing is sweeter than a nanny goat. I hope they find them and yes, as I said in a previous post, you can lead them anywhere with a bucket of feed. Good luck! Pat/Texas

  14. That's just horrible. It's just a thought, but I wonder if they are covered by your home owners' insurance.

  15. I say string up the SOB's!! What an evil thing to do. Do you have any pics of the goats that you can give to the auctions? Also be sure and keep an eye on craigslist. They may try and sell them in groups or alone.
Hang in there and keep a watchful eye, they may come back. I'd keep things loaded for a while. ;)

  18. Damn. Just.... damn. There is a special place in hell for someone who would steal someone else's goats, and I'd like to help them along their way.

  19. I drive by a house every day that has different goats all the time. They are there in the evening and gone the next morning. Sometimes there is a dog in the small pasture with them. I called the authorities but they did nothing. today there were more goats and a big fluffy white dog. It WILL be gone tomorrow along with the goats. I've seen dozens and dozens of dogs and goats go through this place in the last year. It bothers me a lot.
